Paul Weller talks about his Music
Paul Weller has been announced as Sunday's Jersey Live Headliner. He will be closing what Organisers hope will be the best Jersey Live Festival yet.
Starting out with 'The Jam' Paul Weller then joined 'The Style Council' and in the early 90's he re-established himself as a world class solo artist winning numerous awards including this years NME 'Godlike Genius'.
In 2006 Weller received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Brits. Despite a tendency to shun such occasions, Weller accepted the award in person, and performed four songs at the ceremony, including the Jam classic "Town Called Malice".
Paul Weller has stated a wide range of influences throughout his musical career, frequently listing the Kinks, The Who and The Beatles
During the Britpop explosion in the mid-1990s a number of bands, such as Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene and Blur, listed Paul Weller as a major influence.
As a new generation of bands emerged, Weller was again noted as an influence by bands such as the Arctic Monkeys and the Enemy.
