The church to church walk has been going for decades and is one of the highlights of the season for the Sarnina Walking Club.
The club has some excellent racers and the event is an oppourtunity for them to compete against walkers from England and further a field. The Isle of Man ha d a strong contingent over and they would dominate the race.
First of all the walkers headed up to St. Martins Church. All of the locals, and some of the visitors carried on tradition buy touching the statue outside the church.
After crossing St. Martins is was then up to the Forest. The conditions were pretty good for the competitiors with only a few drops of rain and a mild tempreture.
After the Forest it was down to Torteval and the walkers could enjoy some nice scenery during their race. By this poin the Isle of Man's Michael George was way out in front. Guernsey's young star Jason Le Noury was keeping up with the chasing walkers and was aquiting himself well against the strong field.
Heading down to St. Andrews George was still out in front and unless something went seriously wrong for him he was going to come out on top. And that's what happened. George crossed the line with a time of 2 hours fifty seven minutes and seventeen seconds.
