Strange lights in the night sky

Channel Television had a few phone calls to the station last night, claiming that a strange object had been spotted in the sky over Jersey.

Thankfully our duty camera team were in the area and managed to capture the footage above.

But what exactly was it? Rob Moore went out to investigate...

The "spooky disc" is an airy ring, a refractive effect of lenses when they are out of focus. To get this effect the film crew deliberately de-focussed the camera lens. If they had focussed it properly it would have shown a star and there would have been no story.

Its Classues it only happens when the moon orbits faster than normal and the temperature is below 5 Degress causing oxygen Particles to aluminate , what a wonderfull and beautiful sight
