Ferry journeys between the Channel Islands are set to be delayed this week.
The Condor Express ferry has encountered engine troubles. It's the latest blow in a series of problems for the company. The Condor Express has four main engines and one of them has developed a minor fault. It could operate as usual but they've decided to run it on reduced power to avoid any further damage.
Condor's Steve Bailey said:"It is a bearing problem, we've identified it, it's not a major fault it's something we can fix but it will take three to four working days. Clearly we well understand there's a lot of inconvenience to our passengers but we're working on it."
It's the latest in a string of problems that have happened to Condor's fleet this year. During routine maintenance in April, engineers found a crack in the casing of one of the Condor Express engines. In June the company were still carrying out work to repair that. Only last month the Condor Clipper was escorted in to Portsmouth Ferry Port after a fire was found in the lower vehicle deck, damaging the ship's steering system. The trip should have taken ten hours, but ultimately passengers were forced to stay aboard for for more than twenty-four.
Anyone travelling to the UK who is concerned, is being urged to contact Condor.

Its a shame. If the company wasnt involved with any ex chief ministers, Condor too would have been scrapped from the island; rather like HD Ferries. Something has gone seriously wrong our society. It's illegal to have monopolies in the island I thought?!
