The Communication Workers Union have told Channel Television they're attempting to negotiate a new deal with Jersey Post, following the announcement last week that 90 people would be made redundant at the company.
Yesterday, the CWU said they're members would consider taking industrial action if forced to take compulsory redundancy.
While the CWU insist the threat of strike action is still a genuine prospect, they say they are negotiating with Jersey Post to find a viable way forward for their members.

I don't get it - last time there were reduncancies at Jersey Post, a lot of the staff that took redundancy were re-employed on a different contract (nice way to get a lump sum and not have to worry about finding alternative employment !) - so exactly how many TRUE redundancies will there be or are they planning to do the same again and re-employ people that they pay off ??
