Jersey Airport's been given the go-ahead to build a security fence that could cost more than half a million pounds.
The new fence will be built at the northern edge of the airfield and will bring the airport into line with international safety regulations.
The airport's Operations Director admitted security at the airfield and restricted zones place the airport behind Europe and the rest of the UK.
Jersey company The Fencing Centre won the contract to build the new fence, which has an overall budget of five hundred and twenty thousand pounds.
