The Royal Navy patrol boat which protects our fish stocks arrives in Jersey today (Friday).
HMS Mersey is a star of the three day boat show which opens tomorrow.
Visitors will be welcomed aboard for a look around.
The 79-metre River Class Offshore Patrol Vessel weighs a powerful 1,700 tonnes and is deployed mostly on fisheries protection and maritime security.
HMS Mersey was selected to visit this year as winner of the Jersey Cup which, by tradition, will be presented by the Lieutenant Governor on Sunday 6 May.
The boat is the youngest of the three original River Class offshore patrol vessels. She was built in Woolston Docks, Southampton, is based in Portsmouth and is on almost permanent patrol.
