Jersey will not lose the pound note.

The States Treasury Minister has confirmed he has no intention of removing the note from circulation. Senator Ozouf says the pound note is part of island culture. He also confirmed the design for the new note will include French and Jersey French.

Senator Ozouf also said the island could soon have a £100 note. The Treasury Minister says he hopes the new note would become a collector's item and reinforce Jersey's cultural identity.

Should Jersey introduce its own £100 note?

On the reverse side of the £100 note I suggest that we have a picture of the Manneken Pis statue in Brussels. This will symbolise our close ties with Europe and serve to remind us what the States are doing with our money.

Yes but what is the cost of producing a £1 note with all the anti fraud measures that need to be taken these days? Wasn't this one of the reasons behind withdrawing the UK pound note, it was just getting uneconomical.

I'm in favor of keeping the note, pound coins are inconvenient and useless.
