A former electoral candidate has hit out at Jersey's Sustainable Transport Policy.
The policy which is currently out for consultation proposes a number of traffic reducing measures, including environmental taxes on fuel and vehicles.
Roy Travert has submitted the results of his own commuter survey to Transport & Technical Services.
He says commuting is being used as a smokescreen for a failed immigration policy, which is making the island's traffic problems worse...

How about combining the immigration policy with the transport policy and including a driving licence with the "quallies" ... until you've been here x years you use a bus (unless you've got a 6-figure value car and a 7-figure cost house, in which case you'll be exempt ;-)

Very true. But at least it looks like they are doing something (not!). A very vague policy, with as mentioned the 'vital' figures missing.
