Do you want to air your views on congestion in Jersey? Tonight you can do just that.
The Transport Minister, Constable Mike Jackson is hosting a public meeting to discuss the Sustainable Transport Policy.
Its key aim is to cut congestion by 15 percent by getting more people to use public transport, walk and cycle.
If you want your say - the meeting starts at 7 o'clock at the Town Hall.

This is just a sure way of the states ONCE AGAIN? making us the people of jersey charge us taxes to re-coup the money they have lost on hairbrained scheme`s over the years.it wasn`t so long ago that road tax was abolished and fuel prices put up as a way of pay as you use your car or gas guzzler as MR LE MAIN puts it,has he still got his jag i (just a thought),i think this is not certain states members trying to do right for the island, but more of a personal preferance to themselves because they are in a positon of power to do so,maybe the were cut up by a 4x4 on the way to work or stuck in school traffic on there way to another important meeting?? i would of made the meeting tonight but its raining, and the tyre on my pusbike is flat!!

if you are not taking children to school get up earlier, there is no traffic on the road at 07.00 when I go in

I think you could reduce traffic congestion up to as much as 50% , if you sorted school transport out, ever travelled to work when the kids are off, I rest my case. I think this seriously needs looking at

What I would like to know, is who is the brainbox who decided it would be a good idea to do road work on the esplanade at the same time as work on the country route? Why not do one then the other?
The stupidity of this idea is incredible.
And no, charging people to use their cars or making them pay for what type of car they have is not the answer. It seems merely a rouse to get us to bail out the fools in the states who don't know how to manage our money.

Why don't the states wake up aqnd realise this island is overpopulated with more arriving by the day.

A reduction of 15% is too much, what's it going to mean the poor forced to use buses waiting out in the cold and rain while the rich drive on by.
Jersey is only a small island, unless its going to improve routes with a poor bus service dramatically, its a non starter.
Leave things as they are.
