Crime in Guernsey rose by more than a tenth last year.

Nearly 3000 crimes were reported in 2009 according to Guernsey Police's annual report.

It's 300 more than the previous 12 months.

Two third of the crimes reported in 2009, were still outstanding at the end of the year.

Thefts and burglaries in particular have seen big rises, with the number of burglaries at people's homes doubling.
