A working windmill, complete with 50 foot sails, could soon be overlooking Guernsey's Perelle bay.
Ian McKellar has set himself the challenge of restoring a former cement mill in the grounds of his property.
It's a long time since any sails have turned on this mill, but its current owners are determined that the winds of change are on their way.
They're planning on restoring this old cement mill to its former glory. If all goes to plan a copper roof and timber and canvas sails will be making this a distinctive Guernsey landmark.
With local architects and UK experts involved, it's a complicated and expensive project - but the building's owner believes its history should be preserved.
Ian McKellar said: "Just because it should be done basically, you know, that's it really, it should be done, that's what it was, why not put it back to its original, something nice, something for people to look at, enjoy. I'm going to enjoy it. That's it really."
Situated high above Perelle bay, the windmill is used as a landmark for fishermen and sailors in the area.
The work Ian's doing to the structure should help it become even more visible and useful for them. But they won't be the only ones using the building.
