17-year-old British teenager Mike Perham has just set the record for the youngest person ever to sail around the world via the Panama Canal.

Now another Brit - 67-year-old Jeanne Socrates - is aiming to become the oldest woman to make the voyage. Her yacht Nereida is registered in Guernsey and Jeanne has been in the island for many weeks getting the boat ready for the attempt.

She lost her old boat last year when she was just 60 miles short of sailing in stages around the world.

Jeanne's solo attempt will raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. All being well she'll set sail from the Canaries in mid-September.
