The first film, party, live music and performance events at this year's Branchage International Film Festival have been announced.
As well as the opening night gala screening of Stephen Frears' brilliant new comedy 'Tamara Drewe', and closing night documentary Out Of The Ashes', which follows the Afghan cricket team and is part-shot in Jersey. Catch the trailer below...

Other announcements include screenings of 'Seperado!' with a Q&A with Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys, The Lock Tavern Party featuring Chrome Hoof live, and American counter-culture icon Ian Svenonius DJ set.

Branchage Festival Press Pass Competition.
For the second year running Branchage is proud to be teaming up with www.TheQuietus.com to offer budding film and music critics the opportunity to be a part of the press team for the 2010 festival.
The winner will receive a Press Pass, exclusive access to visiting guests, bands and filmmakers, and be invited to review the films at the festival.
The winning entrant will also be mentored by Film Editors David Moats and Luke Turner, the founders of theQuietus.com. They will learn interview and writing techniques as well as having the opportunity to speak to visiting filmmakers and bands.
The winner’s final Branchage write up will also be published online, alongside some of the most respected names in music and film journalism.
Entrants must be aged 16-21 and are invited to email in a 250 word review of a film or album, along with a short piece about Jersey to branchage@thequietus.com.
Entries must be in by the September 17th.

Branchage Sponsors Confirmed.
The Branchage Festival team have announced that this years lead sponsors are both Jersey Trust Company and Spearpoint.
Both sponsors have been onboard with the project since it started back in 2008.
The 2010 festival is due to take place in Jersey from the 23rd - 26th September and with the confirmation of the sponsors the event organisers can move forward and plan another jam-packed 4 day festival of entertainment.
Last years festival was held in a number of locations across the island including projections on the unusual backdrop of Mont Orgueil - see video below
