Chart topping Rapper Example to take to the stage at Platinum Nightclub
Example will be taking to the stage at Platinum Nightclub in Jersey on the 14th August.
The British singer and rapper's pseudonym originated from his initials of his real name Elliot Gleave -'EG' which is a common abbreviation for "for example".
Example's first studio album 'What We Made' was released in 2007 and although it didn't chart, many major names in music noticed his talent.
It wasn't long before Example started working on his second album with the likes of Calvin Harris, Sub Focus and Chase & Status.
Released in 2010, the album 'Won't go Quietly' peaked at number 4 in the album charts. Three singles have been released from the album, all but one taking the top spot in the UK Dance Singles Charts.
'Watch the Sun Come Up' was the first to be released charting at number 19 in the UK Single Charts and number 3 in the UK Dance Singles Charts.
The second single to be released 'Won't go Quietly' entered the UK Singles Charts at number 6 and took the number 1 spot in the UK Dance Charts.

Stat Attack on Example
Born Elliot John Gleave on 20th June 1982 the pseudonym of Example came about because his initials are E.G which is a common abbreviation used for "for example".
At the age of 15 he entered his first 'Rap Battle' at a house party in Shepherds Bush.
In 1992 he won Royal Mail Poet of the Year which won his school a new computer.
In 2000 he attended Royal Holloway University in London where he studied Film Directing and it was during this period that he met the producer Joseph Gardner otherwise known as Rusher with whom he would later go on to work.
